This is the Journal of Tsunami Riders M.C.C.

I know, I know, it's been almost a year since I last updated the news page! Things have been a bit hectic.

There have been a couple of changes on the committee, Pete has moved up to President, Kevin is now Vice President and Stan has taken over as Treasurer. Since the last news update we have a new Associate member; Jay and several new full members, plus some potential new Associate members.

Les has now got married and moved to Spain, hell that's gonna be one hell of a rideout!

Stan had a bit of a mishap on his bike back in May and still has a leg in plaster. So he's year has been a bit quiet!

So the days are getting shorter and the queues in the shops are getting longer! Think I must have blinked and missed summer this year.

Preparations for the Christmas Party are just about complete, so it's just down to you guys (and gals) to buy your tickets and come and enjoy yourselves.

The club has been out and about at rallies, rideouts and a few one day events like the Unity Ride 2007 (which I managed to go on!).

After a very successful time at the helm, Les has (for personal reasons) decided to step down as President and has even left the club. The club has really moved forward since he took over and we would all like to thank him for his guiding hand.

So Stan has taken the helm again and Pete has stepped into Stan's shoes as Vice-President. Pete is also keeping hold of the Treasurer post as he's got a firm hold of the clubs finances now and just won't let go!

We have gained a few new Associate Members: AAndy, Kevin, Ali, Martin, Terry, Alan, Kenny and Dave. Terry has now been made a full member - yes a lot happened in the past 2 months!

Most club members have attended several rallies and I have posted write ups on the diary page. Personally I'm still being plagued by bad luck and have failed to attend any rallies other than our own! I did manage to do the Poker Run, which I really enjoyed! Things have got to get better soon!

After being nagged by several people for not updating the news page I thought I'd better get it done! We've all been busy with both club and personal stuff (Mark & Becky and Les have moved, Amanda has been in hospital).
The 7th Joint rally (way back in April) went really well judging by the feedback we have received and we certainly enjoyed running it and seeing so many people there. The egg run was well attended - a big thanks to all those that came.
At the rally we were honoured to receive a friendship plaque from the Legionnaires MTC. We also received a Birthday card from the Mutants - thanks Guys and Gals.
We also received a letter of thanks from Queen Mary's Hospital for the easter eggs that were delivered as part of the egg run.
We had a couple of photographers from local papers attend the rally and articles appeared in the Bexley Extra and the News Shopper. Unfortunatly neither photos were of club members!
On the membership side of things: We've had a couple of members leave (for various reasons) and have a couple of new Associate members. We've also had a few visitors following the articles in the local papers.

Here we are at the start of a brand new year and already much has happened!
Stan (our President) has decided to step down so he can spend more time pursuing his war re-enactment activities (thanks go to him for keeping us under control for the past year).
Les (our Vice President) has therefore taken over until our AGM in June (as Les has a new patch he's decided he needs a new bike as well).
Dixy Jnr. had a little incident with a car that decided to help him park his bike. Les & I picked him and his bike up - no serious damage to either, but the air was blue!
Tigga also had a "little" incident when he tried to overtake a car without his bike. This was rather more serious with him spending a couple of days in hospital and being told to take it easy for a few weeks (I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery). His bike, as Tigga put it, "gave its life to save his" and is now in need of quite a bit more than just TLC.
Preparations for the 7th Joint Rally are well on the way. As this is our 10th year as a club we're hoping to make it a big one, so come along and help us party!

So to summarise:
Dixy Jnr. fell down, Les & I picked him up, Stan stepped down, Les stepped up, Tigga fell down and the rally is coming up, so don't let us down, book up - now! Phew!

Well the Christmas Party has come and gone and I'm sitting here trying to get my head together after having just 1 hours sleep! A big thank you to the members of Mutants Go RC who provided the disco for us and the staff at the Old Elthamians Rugby Club for making us welcome as usual.
Pete celebrated 50 years of holding a bike license and shows no sign of slowing down (apart from the odd speed bump ).
We have gained 3 new members since I wrote here last: Mirko, Tigga and Lynn, all keen party animals!
We've been out and about partying and visiting other local clubs - so not many write-ups or photos.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!

After several comments by both members and ex-members (well mainly 1 ex-member!) I thought I'd better sit down and update the news page!
It has been a busy couple of months (as you'll see from the diary), but the number of photos/reports sent to me have been few and far between (think they've just been too busy enjoying themselves). We have moved pubs, returning to the Three Blackbirds, where the club used to meet a few years ago. It has to be said that the welcome we received from both the staff and locals is great.
We've also been busy arranging the Christmas party and searching for bands for next years rally.

After a few chops and changes in personnel, Tsunami have been back with a vengeance attending several rallies (UFOs, Armada, Bexley Gropers and Triumph Owners) as well as arranging a monthly ride out, taking part in the annual Poker Run organised by the Kent Pow-Wow and celebrating Bill’s 50th birthday. Reports and photos for these can be found on the Diary & Album pages (eventually!).
Due to other commitments, we unfortunately have had to say goodbye to Jo, Tony M, Terry, Lucy, Bill and Woody. We would like to take the opportunity of thanking them for the hard work and dedication they have put into Tsunami and we wish them all luck in their various new ventures.
There are several new faces who are visiting on a regular basis and getting to know us and we hope that many or all of these will blossom into new members in the near future.
With lots of other events occurring in the forthcoming months, we hope the current weather holds as we plan to return Tsunami to the force it was of yesteryear. Here’s hoping we see you on the circuit for a party and a chat.

Andy has returned from Spain, he just missed the English weather too much (there's only so much sun, sangria and señora's you can take)!

Pop's completed a sponsored ride from Lands End to John'o'Groats covering 1,900 miles in 4 days and raising LOADS of money too.

Another Joint rally has come and gone! From the feedback we've had it sounds like you enjoyed yourselves! Thanks again to all who came.

Plans for this years Joint rally continue to go well - Don't forget to book your tickets in advance (£10 or £12 on the day) so you'll have more money to spend at the bar!

Becky & Bill went to the MC Rottum's February freezer in Keston (Rally report to follow).

Now for some strange reason, some of the Members of Tsunami Riders MCC, got a bit stick over the New Year because of the Tsunami Disaster and the name of the club, so I’m going to make a point in saying that the club has been running longer than a few months, Try June 1997. Therefore Woody and Stan went on the Run as a sign of respect to those who suffered in the disaster…..Right moaning over, about the Run.

Those who went with our group, met in Erith, bright and early between 9 and 9.30 AM Sunday morning. We were going to go via the Ace Café, but thought better of it, as we knew that it would most probably be madness there. We hit the M25, making our way to the M40 Oxford service station, (losing Stan and Woody on the way…OPPS!! Sorry Lads!), were we met up with the Sevenoaks Snowball, lead by Moose, at around 11AM. After a pee and rest stop we then made our way to the meeting place for the Warwick Snowball.

We pulled into a pub Car Park, well it should have been called a Motorcycle Park, where we had a 15 minute rest before going on to the Museum. Now the really fun bit…We blocked the roads going to the Museum, thanks to some bikers making sure that the Snowball wasn’t split up, Cheers Peeps! Then the Museum came in to sight, as did the number of Motorcycles that turned up. A wonderful sight I must admit. Around 2200 Motorcycles turned up.

We went into the Museum, had a look around and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. See the album once we have updated it. Anyway, after a few hours there, we made our way back home. All quite happily tired, and happy that we made it there and back in one piece!! Apparently MAS are planning another charity run later this year, and again next year….mmmmmm watch this space!!

Oops, after all this time, it's been pointed out that if you clicked on our direct e-mail link, it actually took you to a non existent address so if you've written but received no reply, that's why. Sorry. This will be changed again in the near future but in the meantime, the correct address has been input.

Not much went on this month Club wise - a bloody excellent ride out to the Barley Mow where we took part in the local quiz night between beers and a few of us went down to the Renegades Firework bash. Oh and we attended the Kent Pow Wow to which we're affiliated.

Bill (Parrot) has decided that as the MAG side of things has been poorly attended, for the moment he is letting things lapse but hopes to relaunch with more advertising and enthusiasm in the New Year, possibly April. Let him know if you actually want a local group which you can attend or whether his efforts are aimed at only a few. (07779 995803)

Unfortunately, I have to take the sad action of announcing my resignation from the Tsunami Riders. I have spent eight happy years as part of the Club and seen it develop from the very beginning. However I do not feel as an individual that the activities and objectives of the Club at present match what I envisaged when first forming the Club. This is not to say that the current undertakings are in any way lesser or without purpose, just different.

The Club has evolved and maybe I should have followed suit but being the dinosaur that I am, that hasn't happened and I feel it's better to leave now on good terms rather than let the differences fester.

So, I thank all current and past members for their support in creating what has become a cracking little Cluband I hope it contimues to flourish. I will, of course, be around to take part in all future parties and rallies, I just won't have to work them – Goodee!. Cheers all.

First off, apologies for missing out on last month's update but as you can imagine, any changeover in the running of a club has it's difficulties and it's taken a while for everyone to appreciate all the intricacies involved behind the scenes. Hopefully now, things will proceed smoothly.

Although we have been active as individuals over these last few weeks (Condom, Storming the Castle, Legionnaires Cocktail Party, Summer Breezer) and unfortunately money and time dictating that we had to pass on two others we would normally attend, a few of us got down to the Ogri Rally and a veritable horde felt compelled into going up to the Soggy Moggy. Including one very wet ride out and a cheque presentation to Marlborough Park School of £200, things have been very busy. Oh – and I got a year older.

We have settled nicely into the new pub and attendance has picked up though more are always welcome and we hope to persuade some of these into taking up membership and the regular patrons are also getting used to the greasers sitting in the corner.

Plans are now finalised for the Christmas Party – all we need now is for you to buy lots of tickets (see Party page for details). Cheers for now.

Quite a lot has gone on this month. We have made a definite move of meeting place – a change is as good as a rest – and we have had a few visitors already so we would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and punters at our previous venue, the Three Blackbirds, Blendon. We had a great 2 years there and were welcomed and supported financially by one and all. We will, of course, pop back for a social bevy on occasion.

Bill, in his role as MAG rep, has decided to follow us and will now hold his meetings in conjunction with Tsunami gatherings on Tuesday nights at the Travellers (contact him for full details on 07779 995803)

Finally, I must advise that I have decided to step down as President. I feel I have taken the Club as far as I can and it's time for someone else to take the reins, to which end Mark has agreed to step into the breach. I wish to thank all those who have supported me since founding TRMCC, both past members and those outside the Club and hope you will continue to encourage the new regime in their efforts. I will be staying on as a Club member but now as an ordinary pleb.

Amazingly you’re reading about us just as we celebrate our 7th birthday so firstly I’d like to thank all members, past & present, for making the Club a success.

As with all Clubs, we’ve had our ups & downs but, as you can read in other pages, we’ve just held another successful rally together with the Mutants Go Rally Cluband hope this spurs us on to bigger and better things.

It’s been a difficult year for several members with Club activities being curtailed by financial restraints brought upon by new families, upcoming weddings and job loss but hopefully this year will see us renew our previously hectic calendar by partying together regularly again rather than as individuals.

Although impossible to support everyone and everything, we try to attend as much as possible so please send us your invites, we will get to one of your events eventually.
